This six-week campaign, called Eyes on English, was created for Early Childhood and Elementary divisions, but is noted to be flexible for other grade levels. Throughout the article, the author expresses the importance of this program as well as provides a basic activity that can help teachers increase English usage.

   Alief Noor Farida is a junior lecturer at Indonesia’s Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Now teaching her fourth semester and an alumna of the English Education program at UNNES, Ms. Farida is an especially motivated and dedicated educator. She teaches 18 hours per week, specializing in grammar and writing-skills courses. The Intensive Course she teaches, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and grammar skills, serves as a foundation for incoming English Department students.

7. Teacher's Corner: How Universal Design for Learning Supports Inclusive Learning Practices

   More and more teachers are interested in making their lessons and classes more inclusive for a wide range of learners. Students with disabilities and other learning differences benefit from having materials, evaluations, and learning environments that are supportive of their learning needs. In this month’s Teacher’s Corner, we look at Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a framework that helps teachers plan for different learners in their classes. We explore some guidelines for UDL and ways to implement UDL in the classroom.
