Even though his act preserves his life for the moment, he remains envious of those soldiers who have been wounded, believing that the wounds are a "red badge of courage" that marks a soldier's valour.

This lesson in Teaching Pragmatics aims to raise awareness of and give practice in using strategies of relexicalisation for descriptive accounts and for promoting solidarity in short interactions.
